Food Supplements
Send us your artwork. Get back a marked-up label and a clear fix list: mandatory statements, nutrition declaration format, claims checked against the registers, novel food flags. Ready for print, Amazon, or a border check.

A UK or EU food supplement label has to carry a specific set of mandatory statements, in a specific form, and most labels that fail do so on details rather than on anything exotic. We check every element against the current rules for the markets you name, and we check the things the rules do not list but the platforms and authorities look for anyway.
Mandatory wording first: the supplement designation, the recommended daily dose and the warning not to exceed it, the statement about a varied diet, the storage warning for children, and the name and address of the responsible food business. Then the nutrition declaration, in the format and units the regulation requires, with the vitamins and minerals expressed against the correct reference values.
Then the ingredient list and allergen emphasis, the batch code and durability marking, and the net quantity. Then claims: every nutrition and health claim is checked against the Great Britain or EU register, including the wording, the conditions of use and the mandatory statements a claim brings with it.
Finally, the ingredient screen. Botanicals, extracts and newer actives are checked for novel food status and for any restrictions on dose or use. Where a market requires the label in its own language, we check the translation carries the mandatory information correctly.
Your artwork returned with every issue annotated where it sits on the label, numbered so your designer can work through them without a meeting.
Each finding explained: what the rule is, why the current wording fails it and what compliant wording looks like. Suggested alternatives for claims that cannot stand as written.
Once the fixes are made, a second pass confirms the revised artwork is ready for print or upload, so the file that goes to the printer is the one we have seen.
Reports are written so that a designer, a marketplace reviewer or a Trading Standards officer could read them and reach the same conclusion.
Most label reviews arrive at one of three moments.
Amazon UK and TikTok Shop ask for label images and pull listings that fail. A review before the first upload is far cheaper than a suspension after the first sale.
New artwork, new products or a new formulation. The review catches the claim that crept in from the marketing brief and the nutrition panel that was copied from the old label.
A US or EU label adapted for Great Britain, or a UK label adapted for EU markets. The rules overlap heavily but not completely, and the differences are exactly where reviews find problems.
If you are appointing us as your UK Food Business Operator, a label screen is included; this service is the full review for artwork that is going to print or to a new market.
The process is the same for one label or thirty:
Send us the print-ready artwork, the formulation with quantities per dose, and the markets you sell in
We confirm the scope and quote per label and per market before starting
Every element is checked against the current UK or EU rules and the claims registers
You receive the marked-up artwork and the report with suggested compliant wording
Your designer makes the changes and sends the revised file back
We run the compliant-to-print check and confirm it is ready for print or upload
Turnaround depends on the number of labels and markets and is agreed when we quote, so you can plan the print run around it.
Great Britain and the EU share the same structure for food supplement labelling and most of the same mandatory statements, which is why a label written for one market is usually most of the way there for the other. The differences are in the details: the responsible business named on the pack, the claims register each market uses, and the language requirements.
EU labels must be in the language of each member state you sell in, and the mandatory information has to survive translation intact. Great Britain labels need a UK-established food business operator's name and address; EU labels need an EU-established one.
We review against the specific markets you name, flag where one label can serve both and where it cannot, and tell you which version each market needs.
A registered UK food business on your label and listing, with the compliance work behind the name. Label screening is included for brands that appoint us as FBO.
Reviews are priced per label and per market, agreed in writing before we start. What moves the price is the number of labels and variants, how many markets each has to satisfy and whether claims or ingredients need deeper checking against the registers.
We do not publish a rate card, because a single-market label with two claims and a six-market label with a page of them are not the same job. What you get is a fixed price per label with the compliant-to-print check included.
Amazon UK and TikTok Shop check labels against the same rules as Trading Standards, but they also check listing text, and they do it faster. A compliant label with a non-compliant listing still gets pulled. We review the listing copy alongside the label where you ask us to.
If you are preparing to list, our guide to selling supplements on Amazon UK sets out the four checks the platform applies and how to pass them first time.
Close, but not identical, and EU labels must be in the language of each market you sell in. The responsible business on the pack and the claims register also differ. We review against the specific markets you name and tell you where one label can serve both.
Your artwork marked up with every issue found, plus a short report explaining each fix and why it matters, with suggested compliant wording. Your designer can work straight from it, and we check the revised file before it goes to print.
Yes. Claims are where most labels fail. We check yours against what is permitted in Great Britain and the EU, including the wording and conditions of use, and suggest compliant alternatives where needed.
Yes, where you ask us to. Marketplaces scan listing copy for claims just as they check label images, and a compliant label with a non-compliant listing is still pulled. We can review both together.
We review and advise rather than design. What we provide is the compliant wording and layout requirements for every mandatory element, which your designer or manufacturer's artwork team applies. We then check the finished file.
Our food supplements team acts as UK FBO, reviews claims and novel food status every day and answers marketplace compliance requests every week, so a label we have passed is one we would put our own name on. Which, for many clients, we do.
